What is Maker Faire?
We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth. Maker Faire is part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new! As a celebration of the Maker Movement, it’s a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. Faire gathers together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, food artisans, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. Makers come to show their creations and share their learnings. Attendees flock to Maker Faire to glimpse the future and find the inspiration to become Makers themselves.
This year, Maker Collider has brought some of our best projects and demos to this great event and shared our joy of making.
So, what we have brought?
Xpider is the smallest programmable robot in the world. Xpider Basic Kit is the first robot kit with inertia navigation function powered by Intel Curie for robot/DIY enthusiasts. With simple programming or a Bluetooth joystick, you can move its head up and down and make it go wherever you want. You can turn it into a mobile home surveillance robot if you install a WIFI camera on it or make it play with your cat by adding a laser pen onto its head. What else can it do? It is all up to you.

CurieNeurons Kit is an easy-to-use tool for makers of all levels who want to have a shot at building neural networks or artificial intelligence related IoT projects. It helps users to build smart hardware capable of pattern learning and object recognition without a line of code.

Taking advantage of Arduino 101’s neural network computing power and Ringwill Fusionwire’s customized BLE wireless connection mode, Neuron 0-Wire Kit is ideal for prototyping for all kinds of purposes such as IoT, wearable technology, AR, game, education and art installation.

MODA Wearable Kit
MODA Wearable Kit aims to empower fashion designers to create smart clothes. It is made up of MODA controller board and various components suitable for applying wearable technology. All components are connected through audio connectors and BLE. Users can easily program it through SmartNode/AI or MODA APP.
Coach T is an artificial intelligence coach for tennis lovers and beginners. It enables users to “take a private coach home” and practice anytime and anywhere, thus making tennis learning more efficient, freely and affordable.
Equipped with Intel Cuire module, it can record and memorize every movement in practice, recognize the correct movement and give instant feedback and instructions to the users through a mobile App or a Bluetooth headset. Users can also monitor and replay individual trace of movement and compare it with the standard coach movement pre-stored in the database. In this way, he can have a much clearer view of his learning status so as to improve more quickly.

Real Color Scheme
Real Color Scheme (RCS) will change the way you paint – from traditional painting to a new era of intelligent art.
Artificial intelligence makes it possible to mimic famous art works through photo smart stylization. RCS App will automatically produce a color scheme. Select a color on your screen and transfer it onto the RCS portable device, you can get any color automatically by mixing 5 basic pigments (CMYK+White) dropped on your palette with precise proportion analyzed by the App. Last but not least, AR function allows users to foresee the final result on an empty canvas. The selected color will be highlighted on the canvas. All you have to do is to fill the color onto the highlighted area just like coloring a kid’s coloring book! With RCS, anyone can paint like a real artist!
